Swiggy has introduced a platform fee of INR 2 per food order, irrespective of cart value, as the company focuses on profitability amid mounting losses.
The fee has not been applied to Instamart orders.
The platform fee is currently being charged in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with no disclosure regarding expansion to other cities.
Swiggy's net losses more than doubled to INR 3,628.9 Cr in FY22, while total revenue grew 2.2X to INR 6,119.8 Cr in FY22.
Invesco recently marked down Swiggy's valuation by over 25% to $8 billion, down from $10.7 billion in the previous quarter.
