The new normal and the resultant rise of sectors such as ecommerce, edtech and others has been the topic of discussion and conversation for pretty much all of 2020. But while these sectors are growing visibly through mega funding rounds and massive user traction, one industry that has kind of grown under the radar is the logistics tech sector. Out of the over 600 logistics tech startups in India, the top 100 most-funded startups have cumulatively raised over $2.5 Bn in funding between 2014 and H1 2020.
Currently, this market is dominated by startups and players such as LogiNext, Cogoport, Delhivery, Shiprocket, Freightwalla among others. And though it has produced three unicorns so far, there still lies a wide scope for innovation in the sector to serve customers as well as enterprises in a more efficient manner.
With the realisation of the scope and opportunities in the sector, India is witnessing the rise of many new-age logistics startups. Decoding these opportunities, and the challenges that come with it, the second edition of Inc42 and Microsoft’s ‘The Dialogue: India’s Next Billion’ brought logistics tech innovation to the spotlight in the first episode. Focussing on ‘How Logistics Tech Startups Can Crack The Enterprise Game’, the episode hosted stalwarts from the Indian logistics tech ecosystem to dive into this hot sector.
Apart from the logistics tech sector, The Dialogue series will be focussing on sectors such as mobile gaming, retail tech and fintech.
The Dialogue: Logistics Tech For India’s Next Billion
Moderated by Inc42 cofounder and CEO Vaibhav Vardhan, the discussion hosted Microsoft Asia’s regional business leader, manufacturing, Saj Kumar; Kae Capital’s Navin Honagudi; LogiNext cofounder and CEO Dhruvil Sanghvi, Shiprocket CEO and cofounder Saahil Goel.
Key highlights from this edition of The Dialogue:
- View of the logistics tech startup landscape
- How logistics tech for enterprises is changing
- The role of data in building innovative logistics tech solutions
- Market trends & growth opportunities for startups
- The funding climate for B2B logistics tech startups and more
