Inc42 and Josh, a short-video app from VerSe Innovation, recently held a panel discussion titled B2C Marketing 101 | Building Effective Marketing Strategy To Accelerate Growth. The topic covered many critical areas such as:

  • Decoding a buyer’s journey: How the right B2C marketing strategy can improve customer journey
  • Identifying the right marketing strategies to scale customer acquisition
  • Seeding on multiple channels versus finding the right channel for customer acquisition
  • How influencer marketing differs from celebrity endorsement

Moderated by Rajat Gupta, founder of Mojocare, a digital-first wellness platform, the discussion included Anurag Murali, VP, head of D2C ecommerce at FabAlley; Rubeena Singh, country manager at Josh, and Sanket Nadhani, cofounder and CMO of SuperGaming.

Building Effective Marketing Strategy To Accelerate Growth

The rapid adoption of digital technology in the wake of the pandemic enabled convenience and safety, thus accelerating the growth of B2C startups. But the outcome is not always agreeable. Consumers today are literally bombarded with products and services, even though people can only absorb a limited amount of information at any given point. In fact, information overload related to products and services often confuses consumers and may have a negative impact on their buying decisions.

As B2C companies sell directly to customers, finding the most effective marketing strategy to reach one’s target audience and ensure positive brand recall can be daunting for many marketers.

Although every startup strives to capture customers’ attention and convince them about the value of their products/services, no one-size-fits-all solution is available in the market. Depending on varying priorities and goals, these strategies must be developed or customised.

Businesses need not worry, though. From search engine optimisation to PR exercise and social media engagement, from email marketing to referral, influencer and affiliate marketing, there are methods and tools galore to help implement a holistic marketing strategy for startups primed for growth. Also, brands now have greater capabilities to reach their prospects, engage with them and build trust, thanks to the internet and social media.

But to win the battle for customer attention with out-of-the-box concepts, companies tend to overspend their marketing dollars. Successful marketing is not just about strategic and innovative thinking. Startups must stick to their budgets and watch over their burn rates to achieve long-term, sustainable growth.

Watch this video to know what it takes to execute a B2C marketing strategy and tactics that can convert visitors and boost sales.
