Numerous reports have stated that the quality of Indian graduates entering the job market does not meet the recruiters’ expectations. With lakhs of students graduating every year, this problem has created a skill-gap due to which freshers struggle to stand out in the crowd and are unable to find high paying jobs. On the other hand, companies are forced to allocate extra resources to upskill the fresh graduates which add to their cost.
Taking up internships during semester breaks was a solution to this problem which we can all agree has failed spectacularly. Though internships give the graduates some exposure, they fall short in imparting on-the-job skills that the companies are looking for.
This is where Freelancing can help. Freelancing during college days can be a game changer for graduates as they get to work on real projects which help them learn the technical skills while they also learn the soft skills of coordinating with clients, understanding their requirements and delivering stellar results to delight their customers.
