Bangalore-based MagicX, has raised $1 Mn from investors including Kris Gopalakrishnan (co-founder and former CEO, Infosys Ltd), Dr. Ranjan Pai (MD & CEO\u2013Manipal Education and Medical Group), Ramaraj (co-founder\u2013Sify), Hari Kumar (Lionrock, Singapore), and Aarti Grover (MD\u2013CMS Computers Ltd).\r\n\r\nFounded by May 2015 by Pratyush Prasanna (formerly founder\/CEO of Plustxt and VP at Paytm), and Arun Kumar (ex Tutorvista, Portea Medial), MagicX is promoted by GrowthStory, the venture builder platform founded by K Ganesh and Meena Ganesh. Founder Pratyush is an alumnus of IIT KGP and IIM Calcutta., while Arun is an alumnus of PES and XLRI.\r\n\r\n\u201cBots and artificial intelligence are the next frontiers in technology. The newly raised funds will be used for team expansion, marketing initiatives, addition of more service categories, and technology upgradation.\r\n\r\nMagicX has racked up 100,000 downloads since its launch in Feb 2016. It is an evolved version of MagicTiger, which was a human powered chat application for transactions.\r\n\r\nThe app enables users to carry out day-to-day tasks like grocery shopping, bill payments, recharge, order food, book flight tickets, and other utility services via a chat enabled, artificial intelligence platform. It is currently available for free in Android.\r\n\r\nMagicX has tied up with about 20 partners across ecommerce, bill payments, recharges, groceries, travel, etc.\r\n\r\nPrior to this in March 2016, Skedool.it, a B2B smart assistant startup, powered by Artificial Intelligence, has raised an undisclosed amount in seed funding round from a group of prominent Silicon Valley and Indian technology investors.
