Snapdeal is an ecommerce marketplace and is owned by Jasper Infotech. The company was founded in February 2010 by Kunal Bahl along with Rohit Bansal and was launched as a daily deals platform, but later in September 2011 it pivoted to become an online marketplace. The company is based out of Delhi with offices in various metros in India. It offers 65 million plus products across 1000+ categories from over 125,000 regional, national, and international brands and retailers to its customers. The company has more than 300,000 sellers and is delivering its products to 6000+ cities and towns across India. Snapdeal counts marquee names like SoftBank, BlackRock, Temasek, Foxconn, Alibaba, eBay Inc., Premji Invest, Intel Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Ratan Tata, among others as its investors. The company has raised acquired more than 10 startups till date and one of the major acquisition was of Freecharge which it reportedly acquired for $400 Mn.
