Bengaluru-based startup, Whatfix has raised $3.69 Mn (INR 24 Cr) in Series A funding led by Stellaris Venture Partners with the participation of existing VC investors Helion Venture Partners and Powerhouse Ventures. Gokul Rajaram, Girish Mathrubootham (Freshdesk), Aneesh Reddy (Capillary Technologies) and Vispi Daver also participated in the round. \r\n\r\nThe company plans to use funds to strengthen US presence and invest further in R&D and technology.\r\n\r\nPost this round, Stellaris Venture Partners\u2019 Alok Goyal will join the Whatfix Board.\r\n\r\nCommenting on the development, Alok Goyal, Partner, Stellaris Venture Partners said, \u201cUser onboarding, training and support are challenges faced by pretty much all enterprises, who spend $500 Bn+ on software every year. Whatfix's product is a quantum leap improvement to the current approach of user help through static articles and manuals.\u201d \r\n\r\nFounded in April 2013 by Khadim Batti and Vara Kumar, Whatfix is a B2B SaaS-based performance support platform that allows users to create interactive support FAQs, training material and tutorials to be integrated in web platforms - be it inside applications, blogs, knowledge base etc. Based in India and the US, Whatfix helps to accelerate the adoption of enterprise softwares like CRM, ERP, ITSM and others.\r\n\r\n\u201cAt Whatfix, we are building a solution that provides just-in-time contextual help for any web application. This round of funding will take us a step closer to our vision in providing businesses with a next-gen performance support solution,\u201d said Khadim Batti, CEO and co-founder, Whatfix.\r\n\r\nBuilt with real-time interactive guidance technology at its core, Whatfix\u2019s platform provides users with access to contextual information that is needed at the time to perform a given task. According to Vara, Whatfix\u2019s main focus is on enhancing product capability to further reduce decision complexity for users. \u201cTo achieve this we are channeling the development efforts for predicting user behaviour to improve help contextualisation,\u201d said Vara.\r\n\r\nThe platform has been adopted by Fortune 500 businesses such as HP, AAA, Booking.com (The Priceline Group), NASA, CNA Financial and Wyndham Worldwide.\r\n\r\nEarlier in October 2014, Whatfix, a part of GSF Accelerator\u2019s batch announced in June 2014, had raised $300k in funding at the inaugural DreamPlus Alliance Day in Seoul.\r\n\r\nSome of the other players in the space include Zoho SalesIQ, CloudCherry 360 Feedback, Zendesk, WalkMe, Intercom among others.
