The tragic truth about business cards is that they are going digital. There are apps for everything, and business cards have not been left untouched. There is even the Bump app that allows you to bump two smartphones together to share your contact information. In the future, we might not use regular business cards to the extent we do today. That’s kind of sad, especially when you see some of the famous business cards that have been shared throughout the years.
A business card has always been an important tool to expand your network in real life. We are doing this every day on the Internet, but not in the same way we used to. In many ways, a business card can infuse a sense of respect. Who doesn’t know of the famous business cards from the past? One example is the legendary and now famous business card that belonged to Mark Zuckerberg (founder of Facebook). If you have seen the movie The Social Network, you know what I am talking about. Some people are still questioning whether it is a myth, or if it actually said what is said in the movie. We have the proof!
There are a lot of other famous business cards in the world as well. There is one that belonged to Dr. Eric Schmidt, Chairman of the Executive at Google, that has become quite a debate over the years. Apparently Google had a bit of a spelling problem back then. As you see, there are quite a few famous business cards that would make anyone’s collection impressive.
Furthermore, how about Kevin Mitnick’s by now famous business card design? Mitnick became one of the world’s most notorious criminal hackers back in 1995. Back then he managed to break into Nokia, Fujitsu and Motorola, which resulted in him stealing secret source code from Sun Microsystems. His famous business card has of course become quite legendary due to the fact that it is a lock pick tool set. There are plenty more famous business cards that you just have to see to believe. Some more awesome than others. They all have one thing in common, and that is that they are all famous business cards that anyone would have been proud to receive.
