SUMMARY

The rapid adoption of AI and IoT has greatly transformed our everyday lives by making most of our household jobs easier

A host of D2C brands have hitched a ride on the boom in smart home appliances, paving the way for a $19.31 Bn market in India by 2030

Home to more than 600 smart home appliance startups, India sees a growing investor interest in the emerging tech space

Life is faster, easier, and a lot smarter now, thanks to the new-age technology that’s making deeper inroads into our everyday lives.

The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) is transforming every aspect of our lives – from the way we work to how we worship and from how we cook our foods to the way we study.

From homes to smart homes – the quintessential Indian household is getting a makeover as the country leaps into an age of tech revolution. According to projections made by researchers, India’s smart home market will reach $19.31 Bn by 2030, averaging a 30% growth rate.

Be it smart lighting or energy-efficient fans, more and more Indians are choosing the smarter way to run their homes. While tech-based kitchen appliances are making great strides in simplifying chores, smart doors are offering attractive security solutions.

The boom in the smart appliances market has fostered the growth of direct-to-customer (D2C) brands such as Atomberg, Beyond Appliances and Geek Technology in the last five years. Tracxn reported that India is today home to more than 600 smart home appliance startups. The rapid growth has also attracted investor interest in the emerging segment.

The Indian smart home industry last year saw some major deals such as foodtech major Zomato buying an 8% stake in innovative kitchen appliances maker Byondnxt, and home automation startup Keus Smart Home raising INR 100 Cr ($12 Mn) in a funding round led by mid-market private equity firm OAKS Asset Management. In 2023, Reliance Jio, too, jumped on the bandwagon with its Jio Smart Home Services, allowing its users to control all smart home appliances seamlessly.

As 2025 unfolds with promises of a steeper rise in the market, Inc42 tries to look deeper into these smart home appliance D2C brands. With that said, we have compiled a list of eight D2C smart home appliance brands to begin with.

(Note: We have listed Indian D2C smart home appliances’ brands in alphabetical order. The list is not meant to be a ranking of any kind and will be updated from time to time.)
