I recently finished a 7 week program at Draper University. During the program we have to repeat a Super Hero oath every day. Since today is International Day of Happiness this reminds me of a point from the oath.
“I will pursue fairness, openness, health and fun with all that I encounter. Mostly Fun.”
Entrepreneurs are busy with most of the time. Being a CEO of a startup is a complete package. You are the marketing, sales, operations and even the paper boy of your company. So amidst of all this pressure it’s quite essential to be happy all the time. Here are some of the tips to keep yourself happy all the time.
1) Do what you love, Do it often:
There must be something in your life that you must be really enjoying and keeps you energized. Try to do it often. In my case I totally love travelling and exploring new places. Whenever I get a break or an opportunity the first thing that I would do is travel. A lot.
2) Surround yourself with people who make you feel happy
Surround yourself with people who understand, care for you and try to spend time with them. In my case I totally feel happy when surrounded my close group of friends. No matter how busy I am, I make sure that I spend a good amount of time with my friends.
3) Start enjoying the present moment
Most of the entrepreneurs dwell a lot of time and planning about the future. Well, this is quite essential and can’t be avoided but don’t forget to enjoy the present looking for the future. Also, try to stay away from negative thoughts worrying about things that might never happen.
4) Take a break
Even if you like your job, stress can weigh you down and make you unhappy. Try to find time after work hours or on the weekend to have fun, rest your mind and energize yourself.
5) Start appreciating small things which you get in life
Stop feeling bad about something you don’t have and appreciating and recognizing what you do have. Try to maintain a diary and start writing all the things that make you happy in the day every day before going to sleep.
Last but not the least
“Life is short, don’t make it boring. “
