  • Specific: Make goals specific to avoid confusion about what the team is attempting to accomplish
  • Measurable: Each goal should be measurable so as to monitor the progress
  • Achievable: All goals should be attainable or put another way, they should not be very convoluted so as to allow employees to give their best shot
  • Relevant: Ensure your goals are realistic and aligned with your hiring objectives
  • Time-bound: Your DEI initiatives should be continuous. However, the recruiting and hiring goals should be timely to achieve them within a specified period

The effectiveness of your DEI initiatives cannot be determined by measuring their progress. In spite of this, measuring these efforts can be challenging because DEI permeates every aspect of the business. Additionally, employers should consider other data, including insights from offboarding interviews, salary increases and promotions, and retention rates. To make things simpler for employers, AI provides numerous solutions for this aspect.

A brief overview of how AI is helping organisations achieve DEI goals:

  • Demographics such as race, age, and gender are not considered by artificial intelligence tools 
  • AI-enabled platforms help companies to identify issues and build models that reduce the problems of unconscious bias. This produces better results with deep insights into an ethical hiring process
