Indian Tech Startup Funding Report H1 2025

Indian startups raised $5.7 Bn in H1 2025, closely aligning with Inc42’s baseline projection of $5.8 Bn. Our annual funding analysis had projected total startup funding in the range of $5.8 Bn - $6.3 Bn, under baseline and optimistic scenarios, respectively. Based on current momentum, we maintain our full-year estimate of $14 Bn - $15 Bn in total startup funding. The first half of 2025 saw an 8% year-over-year growth in startup funding, with ecommerce and fintech leading as the top-funded sectors. During this period, five startups entered the unicorn club during this period, while Bengaluru retained its position as India’s most funded startup hub. Looking ahead, investor focus for H2 2025 is shifting towards AI and hardware startups, a clear signal of rising confidence in R&D-heavy sectors and deeptech bets.
