An INR 1,000 Cr <a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/3-years-after-nod-up-govt-issues-first-tranche-of-inr-1000-cr-startup-fund/">Fund-of-Funds</a> set up by the state government in 2020 has helped startups in the region flourish to a point where it today fosters more than eight unicorns<a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/cm-yogi-adityanath-unveils-inc42s-up-startup-ecosystem-report-2025/#:~:text=According%20to%20the%20Inc42%20report,in%20startup%20funding%20since%202014.">, including Paytm, PhysicsWallah, Pine Labs, Info Edge, RateGain, Moglix, IndiaMART and Innovaccer</a>. 
Further, the <a href="https://startinup.up.gov.in/state-startup-policy/">StartInUP Program</a> provides incubation centres, mentorship and financial assistance to early stage startups. <a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/100-incubators-10k-startups-to-be-part-of-ups-startup-policy-2020/">The state plans to establish 100 incubators</a> to further boost entrepreneurial activity. This extensive network will provide resources and support to startups in every corner of the state.
The <a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/up-plans-to-build-indias-first-ai-city-in-lucknow/">state also plans to build India’s first AI city</a> in Lucknow. The initiative is expected to position UP as a leader in AI innovation.
