In 2024 alone, startups based in <a href="https://inc42.com/features/from-hyderabad-to-jaipur-here-are-the-top-emerging-indian-startup-hubs/">Chennai raised $472 Mn via 27 deals</a>, demonstrating continued investors’ confidence in the region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The first half of 2024 was particularly strong, with Chennai-based startups raising $250 Mn, underscoring the city’s growing prominence in the national startup landscape. 
This growth reflects the state’s strategic focus on supporting innovation and entrepreneurship through<a href="https://inc42.com/buzz/tamil-nadu-to-set-up-two-new-regional-startup-hubs-in-coimbatore-tiruchi/"> government-backed funds like TANSEED, Tamil Angels, Tanfund and Emerging Sector Startup Fund.</a>
Some notable unicorn startups from Tamil Nadu include Zoho, Chargebee, Freshworks, Uniphore and Yubi, while the notable soonicorn startups from Tamil Nadu include M2P FinTech, WayCool and BankBazaar.
Time Nadu’s startup ecosystem is growing at an impressive pace due to its focus on sectors like SaaS, AI, renewable energy, healthcare and EV manufacturing.
