Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a significant player in India’s startup ecosystem with a growing number of new-age ventures making their mark across various sectors. 
According to data compiled by Inc42, Madhya Pradesh-based startups raised $1.9 Mn in the first quarter of 2025. They have collectively raised over $120.66 Mn between 2014 and 2024. 
Some of the notable startups that hail from Madhya Pradesh include ShopKirana, Pushp Brand, TopRankers, and Kyari. However, the state has yet to produce a unicorn. 
According to the <a href="https://www.startupindia.gov.in/content/sih/en/state-startup-policies/Madhya-Pradesh-state-policy.html">DPIIT</a> data, Madhya Pradesh currently has 5,299 startups. Of these, close to 2,500 startups are led by women. 
Under the <a href="https://startup.mp.gov.in/uploads/media/Startup_Policy_2022_Amended_Booklet_Hindi.pdf">MP Startup Policy</a>, the state government aims to double the number of startups from 5,000 to 10,000 in five years. The policy also allows startups avail grants up to INR 30 Lakh per venture. 
The state supports startups through 45+ incubators, including iCreate Indore and <a href="https://bnest.in/index.html">B-Nest Bhopal</a>, alongside sector-specific programmes in agritech, AI and IoT under the <a href="https://invest.mp.gov.in/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/GCC-Policy-2025.pdf">GCC Policy 2025</a>. Additional measures like the <a href="https://nidhi.dst.gov.in/nidhieir/">Entrepreneur-in-Residence Scheme</a> and <a href="https://invest.mp.gov.in/events/global-investors-summit-2025/">Global Investor Summit 2025</a> aim to attract capital and mentorship.
