With technology hubs like Technopark and Infopark, Kerala is emerging as a potential startup hub in the southern part of India. Piggybacking on its high literacy rate, skilled workforce and robust infrastructure, the state offers a conducive environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.

Of these, about a third are led by women.
While Kerala has yet to produce a unicorn, the state boasts several promising soonicorns like <a href="https://inc42.com/features/decoding-the-rise-of-kerala-startup-ecosystem/#:~:text=Over%204K%20startups%20were%20launched,raising%20venture%20capital%20in%20Kerala.">CareStack, Open and SurveySparrow</a>. Some of the notable startups of Kerala are Beyond Snack, Phygicart, Intergrow, Bumberry and Haeal.
The Kerala government has several policies and initiatives to bolster the state&#8217;s startup ecosystem. For instance, the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) offers incubation support and grants, facilitating market access for startups.
During the 2025-26 state budget session, an additional budget worth INR 10 Cr has been allotted to the fund-of-funds scheme of KSUM.
