Hyderabad-based beauty, wellness and fitness app, Zapluk, has raised an undisclosed amount of angel funding from a group of angel investors including former MD of Apple India.
The startup plans to utilise the raised funds to scale its operations, marketing efforts and grow backend team.
Conceptualised in August this year and launched in November, Zapluk, is an on-demand beauty, wellness and fitness app that helps customers book their appointments for home at their preferred time.
The startup provides a varied range of services which includes parlour facilities, spa solution and grooming at home. The platform has reviews updated for various doorstep services so that customers can book an appointment on the basis of ratings and reviews.
Zapluk has leading wellness brands such as L’Oreal, Lotus professional, O3, VLCC, etc. listed on its platform. The startup claims to have an average ticket size of INR 1500.
Manan Maheswari, co-founder of Zapluk, said, “It has only been three weeks, and we have already received an overwhelming response. We have serviced a number of repeat orders since our functioning. For us, customer service and quality of service are key priorities and we have put in a lot of effort and attention to detail to put SOPs in place to cater to the various needs of the customer. Our customer reviews for our professionals are a testimony to this fact.”
Appointments at Zapluk can be booked over a call or through its app available which is available on android. The startup has further plans to unveil its iOS app soon, along with launching services for men in two to three weeks.
Zapluk was idealised by best friends and BITS Pilani alumni, Manan Maheshwari, Mahesh Teja Gogineni and Chakradhar Dandu.
The online beauty space is estimated to be $4 to $5 Bn industry and is expected to grow at a CAGR of about 20% year over year. This space is already jammed with well-known startups in space including Stayglad in Bangalore, MyGlamm in Mumbai and Pune, BigStylist in Mumbai, Vanitycube in NCR, Vyomo in Delhi, Stylofie in Gurgaon and many more.
However, Hyderabad gets its first funded online beauty and wellness services startup. Hence, Zapluk aims to look at wider spectrum to tap the market. The startup also aims to tap other cities like Bangalore, NCR, Mumbai and a few selected tier II cities.
