Delhi-based concierge service startup, Wishup, has raised a seed round of funding from TracxnLabs, 500 Startups and Mato Peric. The round also saw participation from a host of Angels through TracxnSyndicate.
The startup plans to use the funds to expand its technology team in order to provide its users with the best customer experience.
Founded in 2015 by Neelesh Rangwani and Vivek Gupta, WishUp, is an on-demand personal assistant app. Through Wishup, customers are provided with expert operators to find the best deals and services on everything they need under a single platform.
Besides, customers can also submit their to-do lists, and Wishup will fulfil all the tasks including sending gifts to loved ones, calling electricians or booking restaurant tables and cabs at the specified times.
The startup, which has been operational on Facebook Messenger and its Helpline number (+91-7676766666), also announced the Beta launch of its Android app, which will provide its users with another option to use its services. Besides, it is also planning to launch its iOS app early next month.
“We started with my personal Whatsapp number and scaled up to a 1000 requests per day within 1st month of operation. That’s when we validated the market potential and decided to come up with a more personalised platform on Mobile Phones”, said Neelesh Rangwani, co-founder at Wishup. Since its inception in July 2015, Wishup already has over 10,000 customers.
Currently, the startup offers services in Delhi-NCR and Bangalore, and looks to expand to more cities in the future
Speaking on the development, Prahadeesh Giridharan, Technology co-founder at Wishup said, “At Wishup, AI will be used at both the ends, a Wishbot which is at the customer end and an Opsbot which is at the operations end. Wishbot is autonomous chat bot that understands query intent and acts upon it for certain specific categories like phone recharge, cab bookings. Opsbot, on the other hand engages the users on behalf of operators when they are busy. It also helps in logging requests and categorising them automatically. These features are in development stage and will be rolled out soon.”
