CEO of TaxiForSure, Arvind Singhal, has resigned from the company and Pallav Singh who is one of the early employees at Ola as the CEO while the former will be working in a consulting role over the next three months. The resignation comes four months after Ola acquired TaxiForSure for $200Mn.
Top Management of TaxiForSure quit, right after it merged with Ola, including co-founders Aprameya Radhakrishna and Raghunandan G, chief financial officer Ganesh Venkataraman, chief technical officer Amitava Ghosh, human resources head Hari TN, chief marketing officer Randeep Singh and product head Nitin Pulyani.
Reports cited that the reason for quitting the company was lack of operational freedom, instability in the organisation, difference in work culture. It was earlier promised that TaxiForSure will be run independently but recently Ola integrated the core functions including product, technology and engineering team with TaxiForSure which made many dubious about latter’s independent future.
Exodus by a company’s top management accentuates its organisational flaws among with other areas it is lacking of. This development comes at a time when Ola is expanding and making every possible strategic move to get an upper hand over its competitors. Today, Flipkart’s CTO has quit the company and moved to an advisory role while its engineering head has quit to start his own venture.
