Delhi-based startup Styledotme, a social networking fashion app, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Indian Angel Network.
The investment has been made under the ‘Small Ticket Funding programme’, which was announced by IAN last year. Under the initiative, early stage ventures can instantly raise a funding of INR 25 lakh to meet immediate fund requirements.
The round was led by Ajay Gupta. He will also be mentoring the company.
Launched in January 2014, Styledotme is a fashion app that helps users make quick and instant fashion decisions through their networking of friends and followers, along with expert advice. The app allows users to instantly get connected with their friends and followers, and ask them to vote for the selected choices. It also has a feature wherein a timer can be attached to the SOS notification that countdowns while reminding the urgency to vote.
Styledotme has curated bloggers/stylists to help users get instant advice on what to buy and what not to. This helps users make informed and quick decisions.
Meghna Saraogi, founder of Styledotme said, “I wanted to build something that will make life simpler for people when they had to decide what to buy and how to wear. While there are many apps that let people share their style and get opinions and comments, Styledotme is unique in focusing on the fact that people often need urgent advice when making fashion choices.”
The startup will use the investment to build the company’s technical team, fine tune the app and adding new features that would make the app more intuitive and addictive. It will also be marketing the app, both in offline and online space.
The company further plans to add features that will not just give users instant fashion opinion but also help them in suggesting various other relevant products through the app, instantly.
Styledotme competes with fashion recommendation platform like Roposo, Klip.in and Wishary, among others.
