Pune-based queue management app Sminq has acquired Pune-based CodePandora. The deal is a combination of cash and equity.
With this CodePandora founder Bjorn will be heading the UX efforts at Sminq.
CodePandora provides software product development and UX Design services for custom web and mobile apps. It was founded by Bjorn Mascarenhas in September 2012.
Bjorn, CEO and founder of CodePandora said, “We strongly believe in team Sminq’s approach towards addressing the queueing & availability problem. Our mission has always been to develop exquisitely designed software, and we’re now excited to carry forward this focus at Sminq to help realise a broader vision, together.”
With this the entire technology team of CodePandora has transitioned to Sminq and will help build the product further.
Launched in July 2015 by TastyKhana founders Shachin Bharadwaj, Sheldon Dsouza and Santhosh N, Sminq stands for See Me In No Queue.
Shachin, CEO and co-founder of Sminq, said, “CodePandora team has been one of our technology partners for the last one year & we loved the quality of work that their team delivered and hence this was a perfect match for us.”
The app provides real-time availability information of doctors in Pune and helps users avoid waiting in queues at clinics. According to a company statement it is currently being used by 100+ doctors in Pune and more than 200,000+ patients have used their booking service.
Last year in June, Sminq raised $1 Mn in a Seed round of funding, led by Saama Capital and Blume Ventures. Angel investor Vaibhav Domkundwar of micro-venture firm Better Inc. also participated in the round. Queuelo, ACGIL, and Qtix are few other players in this space.
