Bengaluru-based ShieldSquare, provider of real-time bot prevention software for online businesses, has secured an undisclosed amount of funding from Venture Highway, Vishy Poosala (Engineering Director at Facebook), and existing investors.
The company will use the funds to expand further into the global market, and also strategically enhance the product with new features.
Venture Highway was founded by Samir Sood, (former Head Of Corporate Development – South Asia, Australia at Google), and is advised by Neeraj Arora, Business Head at WhatsApp.
Talking about the investment, Samir Sood, founder, Venture Highway said, “We are particularly impressed with the team, who in a short span of time, have been able to build a robust product that is now displacing incumbents in Silicon Valley. Gaining the approval of some top names as customers is just a stepping stone for them and I look forward to them scaling greater heights.”
ShieldSquare was founded in 2013 by Pavan Thatha, Rakesh Thatha, Vasanth Kumar G, Jyoti Kakatkar, and Srikanth Konijeti. It graduated from Microsoft Accelerator the same year. It is a cloud-based, real-time bot prevention solution that helps online businesses differentiate between human & non-human traffic (bots) on their websites & mobile applications.
According to a company statement, its reach spans 68 countries, and its bot prevention solution is already processing billions of page visits every month.
Since officially launching the cloud-based bot prevention service about a year ago to the enterprise market, ShieldSquare became cash-flow positive earlier this year.
In 2014 ShieldSquare raised $300K in angel round from a pool of over 15 investors, entrepreneurs and high net-worth individuals from India, Singapore, and US.
