Sachin And Binny Bansal Became Delivery Guys – What Happened Next Will Amaze You!

Sachin And Binny Bansal Became Delivery Guys – What Happened Next Will Amaze You!

If you’re a good marketing person, you have to be a little crazy – Jim Metcalf

It seems that Flipkart founders, Sachin and Binny Bansal have decided to get crazy enough to set an example. For yet another year, the duo went out to ship out parcels on their own, during the Big Billion day sale.

The founders became delivery persons, touted as Wish Masters, and shared cheerful conversation with the shoppers. While Binny chose Bengaluru for deliveries, Sachin chose his hometown and moved to Chandigarh for delivery the packages of happiness.

While Sachin’s first delivery was at an Air Force Sgt’s house, Binny got his first happy customer in HSR.

Sachin personally delivered a package to the first online shopping customer from Jogewala village, Punjab.

And the fun went on!

“We have had a flawless Big Billion Days this year. Starting from marketing, merchandising to supply chain and technology, all teams came together to deliver and the results have been stunning. Some of the key landmarks of the sale were when we made history in the Indian ecommerce by crossing INR 1,400 Cr in a day. Big Billion Days are nothing without the billion people of the country. We dream of making all wishes affordable, and these are only initial steps in that direction,” said Binny Bansal – CEO, Flipkart.

Flipkart embarked on its five-day Big Billion Days sale earlier this week and claimed to make history, crossing $210 Mn (INR 1,400 Cr) sale in on October 3 alone. With both its acquired units, Myntra and Jabong together, the Bansal founders reported to have sold a total of 15.5 Mn units, including 2.5 Mn smartphones.

Not only this, on day one, the company sold over half a million products within one hour of opening the sale. The sale witnessed the highest number of concurrent users in five minutes of going live. This was 10 times more than any given day, making it the highest-ever in the history of Flipkart.

Also, in a hilarious marketing stint, Flipkart knocked down its competitors Amazon and Snapdeal, Tinder-style. As shown in the GIF, Flipkart issued a notice in shopper’s interest, ‘not to shop’ on the first day of the month but on October 2 as the real deal begins only then with Flipkart’s Big Billion Day. The most interesting part comes later, which completely left both its competitors in the dust on the social platform.

Keep going Flipkart!
