In a bid to further strengthen its beauty services brand AtHomeDiva, online classifieds portal Quikr has acquired Bengaluru-based mobile marketplace for beauty services, StayGlad.
With this, the 100-member team of StayGlad including its founders and stylists will now be a part of AtHomeDiva.
Talking about the acquisition, PD Sundar, Head of QuikrServices said, “StayGlad is one of the largest and highest quality players in beauty services with a 70% customer repeat rate, which makes them a great fit for our overall vision for AtHomeDiva.”
Quikr launched its on-demand beauty service ‘AtHomeDiva’ within its QuikrServices category in July 2016. This acquisition will further strengthen AtHomeDiva, by enabling it to take on more beauty services requests.
AtHomeDiva currently offers on-demand, in-home, beauty services across six cities including Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Gurugram and Hyderabad.
Bengaluru-based StayGlad was founded in May 2015 by IIT Kharagpur alumni, Prateek Jain, Shashank Gupta and Kavish Desai. It offers over 100 types of services. In less than one year of operations, it claims to have processed over a 100 orders per day at an average value of INR 1400 per transaction.
Prateek Jain, co-founder, StayGlad said, “At home beauty is a large segment and a great business. Joining forces with Quikr will bring scale and give us a much larger customer base as we start servicing consumer needs under one umbrella. Together we will have strong infrastructure across cities which will further add to our leadership.”
StayGlad is the third in a series of beauty services startups acquired by QuikrServices. The launch of AtHomeDiva was followed by the acquisition of in-home beauty service provider, Salosa in May. Last month, it acquired on-demand beauty, wellness, and fitness app ZapLuk.
On-demand beauty is just one of the 80+ services provided by QuikrServices that caters to 100,000+ consumers across India every day. In August 2016, Quikr raised $19.4 Mn (INR 130 Cr) in a debt financing round led by Brand Capital, the private treaty arm of media company Bennett, Coleman and Co. Ltd (BCCL).
