Automated product testing solutions startup, Smart Software Testing Solutions, has acquired Bangalore-based smart mobile testing platform, pCloudy, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition was done in a bid to facilitate both startups to create intelligent testing platforms for apps in mobile and IoT space.
Bangalore-based pCloudy was founded in 2013 by Bhavesh Bhojani, Nilesh Tarale and Jaffer Sadhiq. It is a mobile app testing platform for Android and iOS devices and provides solutions for mobile applications and mobile website.
On the other hand, Smart Software was founded by Pankaj Goel, Lalit Jain and Avinash Tiwari. Before acquiring pCloudy, the Smart Software leadership team had created CresTech Software Systems in 2006. It builds test automation solutions for mobile, web and IoT. It is based in Noida and California.
Avinash Tiwari, co-founder of Smart Software, said, “Our experience working with testing software, reinforces the importance of how pCloudy is critical for any mobile app developer. This cloud-based on-demand service provided by the platform, saves nearly 50% of time and cost for large enterprises and a real boon to smaller startups.”
pCloudy will enable Smart Software to become a cloud-based mobile application testing platform. This has been a huge obstacle for Indian app developers, as they need to test the compatibility of their apps across a variety of mobile devices.
Prior to this, Smart Software had raised $1 Mn pre-Series A funding from YourNest Angel Fund, angel investor Rajesh Sanghi also contributed to the fund. The raised capital was partly used to acquire pCloudy, and the remaining amount was used to build OpKey.
