Delhi-based mobile-first healthcare information, access and delivery platform, Lybrate has raised $10.2 Mn in Series A funding from Tiger Global Management, Ratan Tata and existing investor Nexus Venture Partners.
With the infused funds the startup plans to develop products, recruit talent, augment technology and scale operations.
Founded in 2013 by Saurabh Arora & Rahul Narang, Lybrate is India’s first and largest healthcare communication and delivery platform that seamlessly connects doctors and patients through first-of-its-kind health app. The startup connects around 80,000 doctors and health experts from varied branches of medicine to millions of users in India.
Saurabh Arora, founder and CEO, Lybrate, said, “Lybrate’s mission is to solve the fundamental problem of healthcare delivery in India, which is mainly because of inaccessibility of doctors compounded by the gap between supply of and demand for healthcare professionals. We help solve the pressing need for medical care in a country with a population of 1.2 billion by connecting doctors with patients across geographies.”
Lybrate is backed by prominent angel investors like Gokul Rajaram and Vispi Daver. The platform had earlier secured $1.23 Mn seed funding from Nexus Venture Partners and launched its app to help doctors and patients connect easily.
The app has recorded more than half a million downloads in the last five months and over 100,000 patients visit the platform on daily basis.
