Since September 2015, Jabong was looking for a new CEO, as its then CEO and co-founder, Arun Chandra Mohan moved out for his new venture whereas, Managing Director and co-founder, Praveen Sinha was also rumored to be moving out of the company. Till then Nils Chrestin, CFO of the Global Fashion Group was appointed as the interim CEO to look after buying and sourcing functions at the company.
Mohanty on his new role, said, “My endeavor would be to ensure retailing of top fashion brands and invoking more loyal consumers for Jabong, by providing them a seamless and world-class shopping experience. Leading a digital company is definitely going to be a new experience for me and I am looking forward to applying my learnings to support further growth.”
