Delhi-based online fresh food and grocery store iOrderFresh, has raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Best Foodworks Pvt. Ltd.
Best Foodworks’ founder Alkesh Tandon will join the Board of iOrderFresh.
Funds raised in this round will go in technology development, for increasing supply-chain, customer acquisition and services.
Launched in December 2014 by Nitin Sawhney, iOrderFresh let’s customers order fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy, bakery products, pulses and organic food through its Android and iOS app.
Minimum order delivery time is 24 hours. One can also opt for an option of one-time delivery and can even pre-schedule their order for next 30 days.
The company procures products directly from large wholesalers (‘mandis’). It offers one to variety of options for making payments which includes, COD, Mobile Wallet, Credit / Debit Cards as well as through online payment gateways.
According to the company, it has grown from 25,000 registered customers to 50,000 in last four months and claims that 55% of the orders placed on its app are from repeat customers.
iOrderFresh will also be working on introducing numerous customer touch points, such as website, order-by-phone, order by message. Over the next few weeks, it plans to introduce delivery of ‘fresh milk’, procured directly from farms.
