Gurgaon-based GHV Accelerator has onboarded Applop, a mobile app that lets users make their own app, and CaRPM, an app that connects car owners to their cars, in the accelerator.

By including these two startups, GHV has further broadened its existing portfolio of startups and has entered the auto IoT and mobile tech space.

As a part of program, Applop and CaRPM have also raised $100K each from GHV Accelerator. The two startups will be provided with necessary infrastructure and support to achieve 10x growth.

Launched in 2015 by Rahul Singhal, Applop, helps a smartphone user to create and manage their own mobile apps. The company has simplified the process of developing apps for non-tech consumers, by eliminating the cumbersome process of building wireframes and backends and coding.

A user will only need to register, select a theme for the application, select the features and upload the description of the app. Upon completing the process, the app becomes live within 12 hours on Play Store. This helps small and medium business owners to start their own m-commerce store via the app, and integrate a payment gateway along with it. Applop works on a subscription model where the client pays for a yearly contract which costs around $10-$15 on a monthly basis.

Speaking on the development, Vikram Upadhyaya, Chief Mentor at GHV Accelerator said, “What the dotcom was to the PC era, apps will be for today’s smartphone era. Herein lies the potential of Applop. Applop is in fact the logical next step after the Internet boom, given the exponential ‘need’ of apps owing to better smartphone and Internet penetration.”

Applop is based out of Nasscom Startup Warehouse in Kolkata. Rajiv Sodhi, Managing Director of Godaddy India and a part of the mentor panel at GHV, will be mentoring Applop.

Founded by four IIT-Guwahati graduates, CaRPM, is an internet based automobile app. It connects car owners to their car, providing them information that helps them in saving money on its running cost. This includes information such as the car’s overall health, its day-to-day performance, rising fuel cost analysis, individual trip costs, fault codes tracking and other maintenance related details. The app also provides suggestions like improving its health which helps make car maintenance a more transparent process based on its data analytics.

The company is planning to introduce a mechanism which will connect users to local machines, thereby providing an end-to-end solutions in car maintenance.

Started by serial entrepreneur and Indian Angel Network member, Vikram Upadhyay, GHV Accelerator provides mentorship along with a capital of $100K. In its controlled environment, startups can focus on their energies on the core activities of their ventures, such as product strengthening and growth metrics. Other startups which have been taken onboard by GHV are LazyLad, My Taxi India, Foodport, Pick My Laundry and FitMeIn, of which Lazylad and My Taxi India have already got pre-series A funding.
