Gurgaon-based food-tech startup, First Eat, has raised $200K seed funding from an undisclosed F&B entrepreneur in Gurgaon.
The startup aims to solve the problem of ‘awareness, availability and affordability’ of necessary healthy meals, by offering healthy organic meal options.
First Eat was founded in October 2015 by Mannat Wadehra, Rishabh Tickoo, Saikat Bagchi and Shitiz Dogra. It serves on-demand as well as subscription based standardised healthy and affordable options, through its Android and iOS app.
The newly raised capital will be used to expand operations across NCR, to gain traction within the clusters, through targeted marketing, and for innovating and building a robust tech product.
The app has nearly 5000 downloads, and claims to serve 80-100 meals daily. The company aims to serve 400-500 meals per day by Q2 2016.
Prior to this, NDTV Ecommerce’s venture, SmartCooky, raised and undisclosed amount of funding from VLCC founder Vandana Luthra.
Other players in this segment include Bangalore-based Jiyo Natural, a startup that offers personalised nutritionally balanced, calorie monitored and chemical free food; Sattviko, WIMWI Foods, InnerChef, etc.
