Bangalore-based on-demand online coffee shop, DropKaffe, has raised $550K in a funding round led by Kanwaljit Singh of Fireside Ventures.
Other investors that participated in this round include Srini Anumolu & Meena Ganesh of GrowthStory, Apurva Salarpuria (Salarpuria Group), Sidharth Pansari (Primac), Rahul Gidwani, Hitesh Oberoi (Naukri CEO), Nirupa Shankar (Brigade Group), Bhupen Shah among others.
Founded in 2015, by Rakshit Kejriwal, Lakshmi Dasaka and Chaitanya Chitta, DropKaffe, delivers freshly prepared coffee with daily changing menu and various snacks to go with coffee that includes burgers, bakes and non-caffeine beverages.
Chaitanya Chitta, co-founder and CEO of Dropkaffe said, “We are excited to have some awesome investors who understand the consumer space very well. Our goal is to build a pan-India dairy-based beverage brand and this funding helps us to accelerate our growth plans”
The company is ramping up its distribution aggressively and is currently available through major modern trade retail outlets ( FoodHall, Godrej Nature’s Basket, Spar, HyperCity, FoodWorld, Namdhari’s to name a few), along with major online food & grocery platforms including Faasos, Swiggy, Grofers, BigBasket, etc. DropKaffe beverages are available only in Bangalore but it has plans to expand to other cities in the next 3-4 months beginning with Chennai & Hyderabad.
With over 50 different coffees on the offering, unique brewing methods and the ultimate luxury of getting coffee delivered, DropKaffe is trying to change the coffee consumption patterns. The company is 50-member strong including award winning baristas and chefs.
Prior to this in August 2015, DropKaffe raised $300K in a funding round led by Manish Singhal and P39 Capital. Angels from the U.S., India and Singapore also participated in this round of funding.
