Chennai-based DriversKart, online driver solution application, has raised an undisclosed amount of Pre-Series A round of funding from ah! Ventures and others. This round was also led by Sidharth Pansari, Apurva Salarpuria, Saket Agarwal, Ayush Patni, Silicon Valley investors, and Namit Agarwal.
Started in September 2015 by Vinit Srivastava and Saksham Grover, DriversKart, provides on-demand chauffeur service. Its drivers are background verified, carefully selected through five step selection process and trained to provide good customer experiences.
With 20 employees operates effectively in Bangalore, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, DriversKart, has recently commenced operations in Delhi from April 2016. It has found in the B2B model servicing established businesses including hotels, car hire agencies, travel agents, hospitals, and so on.
Vinit Srivastava, founder of DriversKart, said, “With car density per 1000 people at mere 13, the car ownership will continue to see exponential growth resulting in time lost during traffic and parking. With on-demand chauffeur, customers will be able to dedicate their time to add more value to their personal and professional life.”
With these funds, the app aims to reach over 10000 rides a day within 12 months. Besides, the raised capital will also be utilised for a threefold purpose of technological enhancements, enhanced driver on-boarding/training & marketing, and team building.
The startup offers verified drivers and has a strict filtering process. The drivers available are trained not only in terms of their driving capabilities but also in terms of their behavioural conduct and etiquettes.
Kopal Maheshwari, the head of operations at DriversKart, believes that the uniqueness of the offering comes from the fact that it is for the first time that an on-demand chauffeur service in India, is in addition to all the available services, offers a unique subscription service as well.
