The Chennai Angels (TCA) today announced that it has invested an undisclosed amount in activity-based social network Brigge Technologies Pvt. Ltd..
Founded in early 2015 by Prasanna Jagannathan, Sampath Jagannathan and Murali Satagopan, Brigge Technologies, is engaged in developing an activity based social network called ‘Brigge’ that aims to bring real world interactions back into social networking.
Brigge is a social platform where people can discover and participate in activities happening in their areas of interest. Brigge also enables its users to create activities that other like-minded folks can participate. Its users can share updates and photos within the community by creating ‘Spaces’ to showcase their personal brand, organization, group or community.
“The vision of Brigge is to make every hour of leisure count, one activity at a time”, says Prasanna.
Along with his other two founders, he further added, “Our mission at Brigge is to use technology to help like-minded people connect and do exciting things in their leisure. With an intuitive and delightful user experience backed by a rock solid technology architecture and carefully thought-through features, Brigge has been built to revolutionize the way people approach their leisure. There are things we all have to do – but for the things we want to do, there is Brigge”.
Since its preliminary release on September, 2015, people have used Brigge to do exciting things such as neighbourhood runs, found company for a friendly badminton game and beach Frisbee, joined bicycling and photography expeditions, planned meetings to discuss terrace gardening techniques, setup a story-building workshop for kids and many more. “What we love about Brigge is that it encourages an individual to take control of their leisure by creating activities and finding company.” Say the founders.
Speaking on the investment, the spokesperson from The Chennai Angels said, “With Brigge, TCA is getting into very early stage investments. Brigge is showing a lot of promise with its pioneering concept, a good product and a dependable team. We are excited about this investment as it is a first-of-its-kind social networking platform from India with a potential to disrupt the leisure space.”
Founded in the year 2007, TCA is one of India’s most active angel groups. It comprises of successful entrepreneurs and business leaders with a track record of starting and scaling large enterprises. TCA portfolio companies benefit from the collective expertise and rolodex of its members.
Brigge will soon be available on Android.
