Mumbai-based online custom shirt retailer Bombay Shirt Company has raised about $1 Mn (INR 6.6 Cr) in a bridge round from existing investors and an undisclosed investor.

Launched in May 2012 by Akshay Narvekar, Bombay Shirt Company is an online custom shirt brand. It provides customers with the choice of either choosing from one of the already available BSC designs, or customise their shirts. It also offers a wide variety of fabrics and colours to choose from, thus making the shirt unique.

Talking about the development, founder Akshay Narvekar said, “The capital will be deployed to expand to other cities – Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai – as well as key hires in the technology space.”

Bombay Shirt Company will use the funding for investment in technology infrastructure, Key hires and expansion through brick and mortar in other cities.

In a separate development, BSC has appointed Ankit Vora as vice president of finance and business development. Vora has previously worked with Parallel49 Equity in the US.

The development was reported by ET.

Prior to this in June 2014,  BSC secured an undisclosed amount of investment from Amit and Arihant Patni, sons of Patni Computer, co-founder Gajendra Patni in seed funding.
