Mumbai-based artificial intelligence (AI) startup, Arya.ai, claims to have created first AI system prototype within medicine and defence domains in India while exploring research solutions using drones.
The startup was founded in 2013 by two IIT Bombay researchers, Vinay Kumar Sankarapu and Deekshith Marla, who founded the company with a mission to make intelligent machines assist humans in faster and effective decision-making process in their professions.
Vinay stated that 80% of world’s data is unstructured, which can be easily sorted by Arya’s artificial intelligence assistance.
Commenting on its first AI medical prototype he added, “After making the machine prototype study 50 medical books in 30 minutes, we tested the machine out by giving it an AIIMS exam paper, it completed the paper in 2.3 seconds and gave a score of around 124 out of 200, and one can officially become a pathologist if they score over 120.”
Arya has now evolved its AI system prototype to create a diagnostic assistant to radiologists, which has learned over 650-million words.
Besides, the company is also working for defense domain within which it has created a prototype that can be used by bank ATMS. It functions by using a chip that is embedded into the security camera, which is connected to the Internet and has access to a cloud server. Action sensors alert a security manager about a potential mishap.
The company stated that it is in talks with two international and one Indian bank along with government officials for a partnership for its AI prototype. Arya is looking to create a prototype using drones to identify between civilians at a market and a terrorist group.
The startup recently raised $750 K in Pre-Series A round from YourNest Angel Fund and VentureNursery members. VentureNursery strongly believes in company’s vision and have participated in every funding round.
