Thinking Social Roundtable at Delhi
IIM Calcutta… IIM Calcutta Innovation Park

One of the major sustainability development goals of our country is to make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. In 2013-14, 68% of India’s total population lived in rural areas and by 2030, almost 60% of the population will live in urban areas and India is expected to be home to 6 mega-cities with populations above 10 million. Achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls is a critical success factor for meeting the development goals.
Efforts to achieve a just and sustainable future cannot ignore the rights, dignity and capabilities of half the world’s population. Women’s knowledge, agency and collective action has huge potential to improve resource productivity, enhance ecosystem conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, and to create more sustainable food, energy, water and health systems.
IIM Calcutta Innovation Park (IIMCIP) in association with Tata Group is organising a Roundtable on 09 September 2016 at Delhi on the theme “Sustainable community through Women Empowerment”. The interactive session would bring together the key stakeholders in the social entrepreneurship ecosystem on a common platform and exchange ideas, highlight key issues & challenges, identify opportunities and draw out best practices for the industry to emulate. The discussion would cover policies, interesting cases, implementation challenges and CSR efforts around the theme. The event would be attended by industry leaders, academia, entrepreneurs and impact investors focussed on this theme.
