About LNMIIT
The LNM Institute of Information Technology (LNMIIT), is a deemed university
located in Jaipur, India, on a 100-acre campus. The institute is a public-private partnership
venture between the LNM foundation and the Government of Rajasthan and operates as an
autonomous non-profit organization.
The campus is located at a serene place amidst the Aravali Hills flaunting it’s
surroundings. The architecture of the campus is in flow with the pink city and the campus
delivers all basic amenities accommodation, sports complex, LAN connectivity and
regular transportation to the main city.
Apart from technical skills the college has 24 clubs including the Entrepreneurship Cell
that instils in students to take up different paths and this is the reason why there has been a
recent increase in the number of students framing their own ideas to convert into startups.
Startup Intern Fair is that part of Plinth, which focuses on entrepreneurship.
What is Startup Intern Fair?
As the name very well suggests, SIF aims at bringing the budding startups and the aspiring
students all under one place. The startups can fulfill their need for interns (work from
home/summer) whereas the deserving students get a chance to intern in a startup
atmosphere by opening the doors of wide responsibilities and growth before him/her. The
process would be an aggregated one and the students would be screened on the spot and
would get the opportunity to land up amidst some cool entrepreneurs.
Why Startup Intern Fair?
Almost every student subscribes for the internship updates on internship providing
websites like Internshala, Lets Intern etc. Receiving so many internship mails and that too
almost daily, made us conclude that there are so many startups looking out there for interns
to work for them and their need is immediate. However, such virtual processes take long
rounds of applying, task submissions followed by GD and PI in some cases. There was a
need for a platform, which will have enthusiasm to work for something new, eyes
searching for something different, and an effort to open the gates of the world of
entrepreneurship to a lot of creative minds.
So as to bridge the gap between the startups and interns and bringing them all under one
umbrella, we present Startup Intern Fair in its very edition at PLINTH’16, the annual
techno-management literary fest of LNMIIT.
