Founded in 2019, First Principles is a venture capital firm headed by Nitin Sharma, with a history at NEA, EverFi, and Lightbox Ventures. The firm has evaluated over 1200 startups in the past two years, extending backing to 30 of them. Their focus is primarily on early-stage enterprise tech firms, with approximately half of the portfolio centred on the digitisation of various sectors in India and the other half exploring globally through a deep tech lens, predominantly in blockchain. The portfolio currently consists of two companies, namely Scalenut and BiteSpeed.
