Wint Wealth Secures INR 250 Cr To Expand Corporate Bond Offerings

Online bond portfolio platform (OBPP) Wint Wealth has raised INR 250 Cr (about $27.7 Mn) in its Series B funding round led by Vertex Ventures SEA and India, with participation from existing investors 3one4 Capital, Eight Roads Ventures, Arkam Ventures and Zerodha’s Rainmatter.

In a statement, Wint Wealth said it will deploy the capital to expand its range of corporate bond offerings, capitalise its NBFC arm which currently has assets under management (AMC) of INR 200 Cr, strengthen its investor education initiatives, and scale its technology and operations for deeper reach.

Founded in 2020 by Ajinkya Kulkarni, Abhik Patel, Anshul Gupta and Shashank Chimaladari, Wint Wealth operates an online bond platform that enables retail investors to invest in corporate bonds.

“With over INR 8,000 Cr raised and 3 Lakh investors on our platform, we are leading the charge to make bonds accessible, easier to invest in, and far more rewarding for millions of Indians,” Kulkarni said.

Meanwhile, Wint Wealth’s NBFC arm Wint Capital offers B2B loans to businesses. Notably, Wint Wealth got the NBFC licence by acquiring a majority stake in Chandigarh-based Ambium Finserve in 2023.

Wint Capital claims to have disbursed over INR 370 Cr to date.

Overall, Wint Wealth has raised over $16 Mn to date from investors like Unitary Fund, Blume Ventures, AngelList, among others.

As more and more Indians start investing in the equities market, the need to diversify their portfolio through fixed-investment products is also on the rise. Wint Wealth is looking to capitalise on this opportunity.

At the heart of this is the rapidly growing Indian investment tech market. Investors are actively backing startups which are simplifying the investment process for retail investors. For instance, Dhan’s parent Raise Financial Services entered the unicorn club in October last year after raising $120 Mn (about INR 1,065 Cr) in its Series B funding round.

In November, mutual fund distributors-focussed wealthtech startup Wealthy raised INR 130 Cr in its Series B funding round led by Bertelsmann India Investments.
