Veeba Foods’ Viraj Bahl Joins Shark Tank India

SUMMARY

I look forward to identifying businesses that are not only innovative but also scalable, and to helping them navigate growth challenges, said Bahl

In October, it was announced that Snapdeal and Titan Capital cofounder Kunal Bahl would also appear as a Shark on the upcoming season of the show

Founded in 2013 by Bahl, Veeba started as a B2B supplier of condiments for QSR chains and later ventured into the retail and D2C segments

Sauce and condiments brand Veeba Foods’ founder and managing director (MD) Viraj Bahl will reportedly join TV show Shark Tank India for its upcoming season.

Bahl confirmed the development to Times of India and expressed his enthusiasm towards joining the show as a shark.

“I look forward to identifying businesses that are not only innovative but also scalable, and to helping them navigate the challenges of growth and market expansion,” he told the publication.

With this, Bahl would become the latest addition to the TV show. In October, it was announced that Snapdeal and Titan Capital cofounder Kunal Bahl would appear as a shark on the upcoming season of Shark Tank India.

In a LinkedIn post Titan Capital said, “He’s (Kunal Bahl) ready to bring his passion for building and scaling businesses to the Shark Tank India stage.”

In a teaser posted by Sony Entertainment Television online for the fourth season of the show, other sharks including Anupam Mittal of People Group, Emcure Pharmaceuticals’ Namita Thapar, Ritesh Agarwal of OYO, and Aman Gupta of boAt were seen with Titan Capital’s Bahl.

However, Zomato cofounder and CEO Deepinder Goyal will not appear on the upcoming season of the show as rival foodtech major Swiggy is sponsoring the reality show. “I unfortunately can’t go back because Swiggy sponsored Shark Tank this time and kicked me out,” Goyal previously said.

The new season of Shark Tank India is set to stream starting January 6, 2025.

Founded in 2013 by Bahl, Veeba started as a B2B supplier of condiments for quick service chains (QSR) like Dominos. Later, it ventured into the retail space. The sauce brand scaled up its revenue to INR 1,000 Cr in the fiscal year 2023-24 (FY24).

It is pertinent to note that Veeba was one of the earliest players in the homegrown sauce markets, which has since seen the entry of multiple D2C players like Wingreen, MasterChow, Gusto Chef, among others.
