The startup offers a marketplace where users can invest across various investment opportunities in the debt investment space via asset leasing and invoice discounting. The platform claims to have onboarded more than 12,500 investors, who have cumulatively invested more than INR 150 Cr via the platform.
Tap Invest said the funds will allow it to expand its market presence, pursue growth and diversify its range of services in debt investment. The company is also working to raise category awareness among young and traditional investors about the sector.
Speaking on the development, Nishchay Nath, founder and CEO of Tap Invest, said, “The fixed income investment category in India today accounts for approximately 70% of all investment assets. This is an indicator that there is a tremendous opportunity and potential for growth in this category.”
In addition to the rebrand, Tap Invest is expanding its product portfolio. It will be hiring professionals across various verticals, including product, engineering, operations, sales and marketing, to support its ambitious growth journey.
Elaborating on the need for a complete overhaul of the brand and its identity from Leaf Round to Tap Invest, CMO Ramalingam Subramanian added, ‘We are excited to launch our new brand and continue our mission to democratise access to fixed income opportunities. With Tap, investors can open multiple income streams with ease and confidence, knowing that they are backed by a trusted platform and expert guidance.”
The startup also offers working capital credit lines to SMEs and startups via its platform. Tap Invest’s team meets with prospective businesses to offer credit lines based on their financial performance.
Tap Invest competes with similar platforms offered by the likes of Yubi, Invesco and Jiraaf, among others.
