Swiggy’s quick commerce business Instamart has strengthened its top deck by roping in Sairam Krishnamurthy as senior vice president and chief operating officer (COO).
In his new role, Krishnamurthy will oversee Swiggy Instamart’s operating units, which include dark store operations, infrastructure operations, city growth and expansion.
With 18 years of experience, Krishnamurthy has held key positions across FMCG, consumer tech and retail segments. He served as the chief operating officer of the supermarket business at More Retail, where he was also the chief merchandising officer.
Besides, he was the head of India supply at Ola Mobility and was also with Hindustan Unilever Limited in various roles across sales, marketing and innovation.

The appointment adds to the list of several other senior leadership churns undertaken by Swiggy Instamart. Last month, Instamart roped in four new vice presidents which include Himavant Srikrishna Kurnala as senior vice president of Product and Business, Aakash Bhotika as vice president – Technical Advisor, Mayank Rajvaidya as vice president of Fruits & Vegetables, and Manu Sasidharan as associate vice president of the FMCG Category for Instamart.
It is pertinent to note that this comes at a time when Swiggy is gearing up for its public listing.
