Continuing its spree of launches, foodtech major Swiggy has now forayed into services marketplace segment with the launch of a new app, Pyng Professional.

The app is available on Google Play Store as well as Apple’s App Store. As per the app’s description, the new offering will enable professionals such as nutritionists, yoga instructors, life coaches and designers to list their services on the platform.

“… Whether you’re a nutritionist, yoga instructor, life coach, or designer, this app has been built with you in mind. Pyng isn’t just an app; it’s your business manager, your assistant, and your cheerleader all rolled into one,” the description reads.

The app description lists following features:

  • Professionals can view, accept, and track orders, including consultations, digital product sales, and webinar bookings, from a single dashboard
  • Professionals can schedule offerings, set availability, update pricing, and manage bookings
  • Professionals can also keep an eye on their earnings with their platform’s payout tracker

The new app will enable professionals to accept and track their orders from a single dashboard, schedule their services, manage booking and track payouts.

This comes a couple of months after reports first surfaced that the company was looking to pilot a services marketplace under the brand name ‘Yello’ to enable customers to engage with professionals such as lawyers, astrologers, dieticians, among others.

The past few months have seen Swiggy aggressively launch new offerings to cater to a wider segment of users. Earlier today, the company launched a new app, SNACC, for delivering food in 15 minutes.

It also launched its new service ‘Swiggy Bolt’ to deliver quick-to-prepare dishes in 10 minutes in October last year. Last month, the recently-listed foodtech major bolstered its events and ticketing play with the launch of a new service called ‘Swiggy Scenes’, which allows users to book parties and events at Swiggy’s partner restaurants.

In December itself, Swiggy also debuted its new premium invite-only membership programme, ‘One BLCK’. In the month prior, it launched a new service to assist restaurant partners in sourcing kitchen equipment.

There were also reports in October last year that Swiggy had partnered with PharmEasy to pilot delivery of medicines in 10 minutes in certain pincodes of Bengaluru.

The developments come amid rising competition in the foodtech as well as quick commerce space. Swiggy’s competitors Zomato and Zepto raised capital in excess of $1 Bn each last year to bolster services.

Swiggy made its debut on the bourses in November last year. The stock listed on the BSE at INR 412, a premium of almost 6% to its IPO price of INR 390 per share.

On the financial front, the foodtech major trimmed its consolidated net loss by 4.78% to INR 625.53 Cr in the second quarter (Q2) of the financial year 2024-25 (FY25) from INR 657 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Meanwhile, operating revenue zoomed 30% year-on-year (YoY) to INR 3,601.45 Cr during the quarter under review.

Shares of the company closed Wednesday’s trading session 3.6% lower at INR 490.65 on the BSE.
