Delhi-based startup incubator T9L QUBE has roped in cricketer Virender Sehwag as its investor.
While the platform did not disclose the funding amount, but said in a statement that it will deploy the fresh capital to further back early stage startups in scaling up their businesses.
“Investing with T9L QUBE is an opportunity to pay forward the support I once received in my professional career, and I aim to help future entrepreneurs get similar support,” said Sehwag.

Founded by Fahad Moti Khan and Gaurav Gaggar in 2014, T9L incubates scalable business models to help them progress from the idea stage to a profitable playbook stage. The idea behind the studio concept is that via proper intervention majority of the reasons behind a startup’s failure can be mitigated.
Startups incubated by T9L and/or its founders include Docquity, SpotDraft, Adda52, NirogStreet, UOLO, PumPumPum, HealthTrip, Tota, ShipsKart, PeopleMatters, CrownIt, RupeePower, BroEx/FastFox and BIS Research among others.
The development comes at a time when a lot of Indian startups are roping in sports personalities as investors.
Yesterday (August 26), D2C men’s lifestyle brand Metaman raised additional funding from cricketer and existing investor KL Rahul for the launch of its perfume range.
In another instance, Indian badminton player PV Sindhu backed D2C wellness brand Hoop and FMCG brand Better Nutrition.
Similarly, Indian supplement brand Supply6 roped in former South African cricketer AB de Villiers as an investor and brand ambassador.
In April, Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer invested an undisclosed amount of capital in the healthtech platform Curelo.
As per the inc42 report, esteemed names like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly, Neeraj Chopra and Hardik Pandya backed various Indian startups in 2023.
