DigitalOcean is hosting its TIDE conference for tech-enabled businesses
Last week, Inc42 hosted Dunzo’s Kabeer Biswas in its ‘Ask Me Anything’ (AMA) series, where he spoke about how the hyperlocal delivery platform has become a lifeline during lockdown. He highlighted that Dunzo, which usually provided courier and other hyperlocal services, has ventured into grocery and has been creating a loyal user base.
Biswas highlighted that Dunzo has managed to rewrite unit economics and generate revenue during lockdown. While the pandemic has brought in an economic slowdown, Biswas believes that Dunzo will hardly face the impact as it operates primarily in cities, where the audience is mostly financially secured.
“The top 20-25 Mn people are not going to get affected much. Most of them are still making money. The bottom 700-800 Mn are going to suffer from the crisis,” Biswas said.
Tune in to watch the entire webinar here.
He also spoke about Dunzo’s plan to start drones for long distance delivery. Pointing to congested residential areas, Biswas said, “Drones cannot deliver in apartments, narrow streets and other types of buildings which are there in India. We’ll still need a two-wheeler and a human on two legs to deliver the orders.”
As we step into a new week, here’s a list of upcoming events :
