The applications for the Inc42’s BIGShift event have been rolled out
BIGShift is an Inc42 initiative in association with DigitalOcean, to enable, engage and empower India’s Tier 2 startups. The idea is to celebrate, discover, connect the local startup ecosystem in India’s emerging Tier 2 startup hubs while empowering them through much-needed support.
Last week, Inc42 and Dell successfully hosted a roundtable dialogue on the issues and opportunities in the MSME sector in India, and how startups and tech giants can help MSMEs scale up. The discussion also touched upon the state of startup innovations focussed on the MSME sector.
As we step into a new week, here’s a list of new and upcoming events:
BIGShift, Chandigarh
As part of the first leg of the latest edition of BIGShift, Inc42 will bring all the key ecosystem stakeholders together over the course of an evening celebrating innovation in Tier-2 cities. Startup founders, entrepreneurs, investors and government officials will come together to discuss the state of the ecosystem in Tier-2 cities through dedicated sessions, keynotes, a panel discussion. The first edition of BIGShift will take place in Chandigarh on July 19.
The highlight of the event is the BIGShift Pitch, a platform for startups to showcase their business proposition as well as products or services in front of the stalwarts from the startup community from each location. Any early stage startup based in any of the BIGShift host cities can apply to showcase their business proposition at the event. Inc42 will be shortlisting applications based on the following parameters.

India Conference On Innovation, Intellectual Property And Competition (IIPC), 2019
Hosted by Indian School of Business (ISB), the IIPC brings together scholars, practitioners and policy makers to discuss the implications of Intellectual Property for business strategy, competition, and social welfare. This year’s conference will continue the dialogue that was seeded in last year’s IIPC but will focus on specific industries such as media, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and information technology.
In addition, this year’s IIPC will also focus on the effects of diplomacy on Intellectual Property issues and its effects on more broadly India’s economic growth itself.

Reverse Pitch
Coworking startup 91springboard is organising Reverse Pitch at its Vikhroli centre in Mumbai.
Through the event, 91springboard has flipped the script on traditional pitching events, by bringing aboard investors like Unicorn India Ventures, Orios Venture Partners, Aavishkaar, IndiaQuotient and many more to pitch their portfolios and value propositions to an array of young entrepreneurs and startups.
The event is aimed at helping entrepreneurs understand the investor landscape, the institutions that support startups, and how startups can impress investors while pitching.
