BIGShift is an Inc42 initiative in association with DigitalOcean, to enable, engage and empower India’s Tier 2 startups. The idea is to celebrate, discover, connect the local startup ecosystem in India’s emerging Tier 2 startup hubs while empowering them through much-needed support.

The conference brought together scholars, practitioners and policy makers to discuss the implications of Intellectual Property for business strategy, competition, and social welfare. This year’s conference was focused on specific industries such as media, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and information technology.
As we step into a new week, here’s a list of new and upcoming events:
Inc42 BIGShift, Chandigarh
As part of the first leg of the latest edition of BIGShift, Inc42 will bring all the key ecosystem stakeholders together over the course of an evening celebrating innovation in Tier 2 cities. Startup founders, entrepreneurs, investors and government officials will come together to discuss the state of the ecosystem in Tier
2 cities through dedicated sessions, keynotes, a panel discussion. The first edition of BIGShift will take place in Chandigarh on July 19.
The highlight of the event is the BIGShift Pitch, a platform for startups to showcase their business proposition as well as products or services in front of the stalwarts from the startup community from each location. Any early stage startup based in any of the BIGShift host cities can apply to showcase their business proposition at the event. Inc42 will be shortlisting applications based on the following parameters.

Inc42 Founders Meetup
After an evening of partying and networking at Pulse42, Inc42 is now looking to host the eigth edition of its Founders Meetup next month.
As usual, the Inc42 Founders Meetup is the place to engage with over 50 startup founders, entrepreneurs and investors for an evening of networking, sharing knowledge, discussing challenges, and interacting with peers.
Past editions of the Founders Meetup had hosted Dineout cofounders Ankit Mehrotra, and Sahil Jain,Ibibo and INDwealth founder Ashish Kashyap, and POSist cofounder Ashish Tulsian.

#Saasboomi is a saas (software-as-a-service) conference for startup founders, organised by a group of indian startup founders. Event’s organising team include Redbus’s Phanindra Sama, Darwinbox cofounder Rohit Chennamaneni, Zenoti founder Sudheer Koneru, Freshworks executive Nivas Ravichandran, and Accel Partners’ Avinash Raghava, among others.
SaaS Boomi will conduct sessions such as product teardown (app, onboarding, website, pricing, and more) by a panel of experts, and product management workshop, panel discussion on what makes a SaaS company investible, and more.
SaaS Boomi is supported by the Innovation Cell of Telangana Government, Lightspeed Ventures, SRI Capital, Endiya Partners, Bain & Company, Whitenoise, t-hub and NASSCOM.

The National Grand Challenge by She Loves Tech
For the first time, She Loves Tech is stepping foot in India through a partnership with Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), the nodal government organisation for promoting the startups in the state of Kerala.
As part of the partnership, KSUM will be organising the competition in India and is inviting applications from startups to participate in the global competition. Any startup looking for funding and positively impacting women with their technology can apply or any startup looking for funding or one that has a women cofounder can apply. Last date to apply is July 10, 2019.
For shortlisted startup, there will be mentorship rounds and they will also get a funding opportunity in the investor cafe round. Post this, 10 shortlisted startups will pitch in the National Grand Challenge which will be held in Cochin, Kerala. Among these 10, one startup will be selected to attend a bootcamp in Beijing, China and will participate in the global finals and international conference hosted by the challenge.
