Last week, Mumbai-based startup accelerator programme Zone Startups India successfully launched the third edition of empoWer Accelerator for Indian women entrepreneurs in the technology and impact space.
Nearly 30 women who were selected for the programme got a platform for mentoring and guidance and also got the opportunity to connect with their peers from the industry. At the same time, they also received $82.02K (INR 60 Lakh) as takeaways.
Further, last week, TechStars also successfully hosted its StartupWeekend to provide a platform to participants to meet potential co-founders, marketers, business folks, designers, and developers.

Freelancing is one of the best ways to gain practical insights into the industry, but it still brings up many questions in the minds of youth. In order to solve this problem, Inc42 is hosting a webinar — ‘Carving A Successful Freelancing Career’.

Edtech startup The Climber is a 2-Day Entrepreneurship Summit for the aspiring and budding entrepreneurs. Startup Mitra Conclave 2018
The Confederation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME) will organise a yearlong ‘Startup Mitra Conclave’ across various colleges of Uttar Pradesh. Following, the event, the confederation will select where it will host its Centre of Excellence for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CEIIE).
The event will discuss several problems faced by startups during their journey and successful entrepreneurs, startup evangelists, and other influencers will give insights on how to address them. The agenda will be to come up with constructive and practical solutions that can be implemented with ease.
The CIMSME is aimed at educating, inspiring and providing valuable sources and support by conducting national events, leadership development programmes, an online entrepreneur forum, and executive education opportunities, among others.

TiECON Kolkata 2018
The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE), a non-profit organisation aimed at supporting startups, is all set to host TiECON Kolkata this week. The theme of the event will be ‘The Tipping Point – Accelerating the Growth of Entrepreneurship in East India’.
The event will feature sessions on various topics such as information technology and consumer Internet, healthcare and biotech, retail and FMCG, real estate and infrastructure, food and beverage, hospitality, media, entertainment, art and culture, marketing, advertising and branding, angel funding and private equity funding.
The event expects participation from over 1,000 entrepreneurs from Kolkata and eastern India. It will also provide a platform to the participants for networking, sharing and learning from each other’s experiences. Further, over 40 global and national entrepreneurs and experts will attend the event and share their experiences.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre Summit 2018
Kerala government’s nodal agency, the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM), will host the third edition of its Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) Summit this week. The IEDC is an initiative of the KSUM which is aimed at accelerating and encouraging aspiring entrepreneurs.
The initiative is aimed at providing an incubator of sorts to emerging entrepreneurs to give them the confidence to transform their ideas into products.
During the event, aspiring founders of tech startups will get a platform to pitch their ideas to a panel consisting of senior businessmen. They will also get a platform for networking and team building.
This year, the IEDC will also form an inquiry space on the Kerala Government’s pet schemes on entrepreneurship development.
