Stackbox Bags $4 Mn To Automate Warehouse Operations

SUMMARY

The startup plans to utilise the fresh proceeds to strengthen its AI capabilities, shore up its product stack and expand footprint to new geographies and sectors

Founded in 2019, Stackbox offers AI-powered warehouse and transport management systems to automate warehouse operations and optimise routes for deliveries

It claims to cater to customers across India and Southeast Asia, including names such as Coca Cola, Godrej, Marico, Dabur, Flipkart, Udaan, among others.

Logistics-focussed SaaS startup StackBOX has raised $4 Mn (INR 35 Cr) in a funding round, which saw participation from Enrission India Capital.

The startup plans to utilise the fresh proceeds to strengthen its AI capabilities, shore up its product  stack and expand footprint to new geographies and sectors.

“… This funding round enables us to advance our AI-driven automation roadmap, strengthen our product innovation, and deepen our reach across sectors and geographies,” said the startup’s cofounders in a joint statement.

Founded in 2019 by ex-ITC executive Venktesh Kumar, Nitin Mamodia, Shanmukha Boora, and Sabyasachi Bhattacharjee, Stackbox offers an AI-powered warehouse management system that automates warehouse operations. Its offerings also include a transport management system that helps its clients manage planning and route optimisation for deliveries.

The startup’s product stack also includes supply and network design, order management, yard management, among others. It claims to cater to customers across India and Southeast Asia, including names such as Coca Cola, Godrej, Marico, Dabur, Flipkart, Udaan, among others.

Stackbox primarily earns revenue through SaaS subscriptions and enterprise sales, capitalising on the growing demand for data-driven logistics amid rising ecommerce and omnichannel complexity. It competes with the likes of Locus, FarEye, Shipsy, Pando, Blackbuck, Loconav,  among others.

Including the current round, Stackbox has raised $5.2 Mn in funding to date.

The fundraise comes at a time when several logistics players are raising fresh capital and gearing up for their public listings. For instance, Fleetx raised INR 113 Cr from existing backers IndiaMART Intermesh Limited and BEENEXT’s Accelerate Fund earlier this year.

In terms of public listings, Shiprocket has received SEBI approval for its IPO, while Shadowfax also filed its updated DRHP with SEBI last month.

With the rapid growth of ecommerce and quick commerce in India, the country’s SaaS-based supply chain management market is projected to become a $949.7 Mn opportunity by 2032.
