The startup plans to use the fresh capital to enter into Bengaluru and Delhi NCR, and onboard 10,000+ new users

SFL raised $1.5 Mn+ from a clutch of investors, including Blume Ventures, Roots Ventures and Kunal Shah’s QED Innovations Lab

Sports tech startup Sports For Life (SFL) has raised INR 21.6 Cr (about $2.7 Mn) in a Series A round led by its existing investors, including Fireside Ventures and Genesia Ventures. Roots Ventures and TDV Partners also participated in the round.

The startup plans to use the fresh capital to enter into Bengaluru and Delhi NCR, and onboard 10,000+ new users.

The startup is also trying to grow its portfolio from seven to twelve sports, launch a cricket vertical, and strengthen its AI-led platform for performance analytics and match livestreaming.

Founded in 2024 by Sourjyendu Medda and Armaan Tandon, SFL runs a multisport coaching and competition platform.

It does this through a mix of on-ground academies, competitive leagues, and a tech layer that tracks training and match data. The platform currently trains more than 1,500 regular students and sees over 2,000 participants in its tournaments.

The platform tracks training and match data to deliver personalised learning plans. Its centres, run by experienced coaches, including former state and national players, typically operate at multiple locations in a city, train a few hundred students at a time.

This structure forms the backbone of SFL’s multisport youth development network, built around structured coaching and data-driven performance improvement.

SFL competes with Hudle, PlayO, Game Theory, Khelo More and others in the sports tech space.

Last year in October, it raised over $1.5 Mn from a clutch of investors, including Blume Ventures, Roots Ventures and Kunal Shah’s QED Innovations Lab.

The current funding comes amid the growing demand for tech-led training, digital fitness, and interactive sports platforms in India.

Another case in point is Hudle, which also raised $2.5 Mn (around INR 21.5 Cr) in July this year to expand its sports community platform.

In May, KhiladiPro secured $1 Mn for its AI-driven youth performance analytics platform. Machaxi also lapped up $1.5 Mn in June to expand its coaching and training infrastructure.
